The band have recently announced that they will be doing a three-day UK tour this summer.
Bloc Party, due to play three intimate shows in June, are currently working on the follow up to their 2008 LP ‘Intimacy’. The tour kicks off with a date at Glasgow Garage on June 19, followed by a show at Manchester’s HMV Ritz on June 20 and wrapping up at London Koko on June 21. They will also play a run of European and US shows throughout the summer.
Front-man Kele Okereke said of the tour: “Hello internet. I know it’s been a long two and half years since Bloc Party last performed in the UK. Well it seems that wait is over, we are happy to announce a short run of intimate shows for our friends in the UK and our friends in the US.
He also revealed that the band would be playing material from the as-yet-untitled new LP, adding: “We will be playing choice cuts from our new record as well as some more familiar jams. We hope to see you soon.”
